Roan Mountain State Park contains over 2000 acres of the Appalachian forest. The mountain is 6,285 feet and the park's elevation ranges from 3000 to approximately 3700 feet. The forests of Roan Mountain are abundant with beauty and several varieties of plant life. The most popular and abundant of these are the Rhododendrons which are displayed throughout the gardens of the State Park. The Appalachian Trail which is located at Carver's Gap, is about 8 miles from the park. RV and tent camping are available and the area provides recreational activities such as hiking trails long creeks and ridges, trout fishing, tennis, swimming, history and educational tours provided by rangers and naturalists, and mountain music concerts.

Round Knob - Cherokee National Forest
Round Knob summit is located in the Cherokee National Forest and provides beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountains. Located in Greene County, TN, Round Knob highest peak is 3,258 feet (993.04 meters) above sea level. Round Knob is located at latitude - longitude coordinates of N 36.067049 and W -82.684867.
